To go to St Thomas we had to prove we didn’t have Covid even if immunized so we got our Covid tests and uploaded the results. Step one complete. There is a tropical storm warning currently and hopefully it passes through.
We got all packed and ready to go, so grateful for my parents watching the dogs and helping with Jax and more.
The flight over has been long. Left Tuesday at 1155pm and as I write this it’s Friday 4pm and we are waiting for our last flight to St Thomas. Be there at 8 tonight.
We flew first class. This was what we booked March 2020 as a reward for our hard couple of years. However this trip has really made us decide we will fly first class most the time. So worth it to us, if it’s just the two of us. I have an American Airlines credit card too so I can earn more miles and the food they serve first class is great. Definitely worth it to us.
Adorable condo we rented and the owners are from Portland, Oregon. It’s absolutely adorable and on VRBO. Can’t wait to explore the island again with my husband and explore St John too.
Relaxing day, with an amazing breeze keeping it cool aka not dripping sweat and listening to the waves crash all out off the patio of our condo.
Having lunch at Iggies Oasis where we came to eat on our honeymoon during our stop in St Thomas. Covid precautions were amazing, food was too! We would definitely try staying here on a trip back in the future.
Another day laying out in the sun listening to an audiobook. Great breeze keeping us cool. Listening to Between Two Kingdoms a Memoir and so far so good. Wonderful rest day, lunch where we went on our honeymoon, checked out our friends home here and will see them Wednesday when they get here.
A little birthday exploring with my husband on 8/23 followed by a delicious steak dinner.
Wonderful birthday dinner at Prime @ Paradise Point and amazing meal. Our Tomahawk steak was flows in from Idaho on American Airlines and was so delicious, the service was great. 41 years of being here and treated to an amazing dinner with amazing views by my husband. Perfect day.
We spent a day on the water and paddle boarded and kayaked. It was a fun day, it was pretty windy which seems to be the norm when paddle boarding lately! So fun though and had a great late lunch at the Beach Bar and Grill at our resort. I had a yummy Virgin Pina Colada, one of my favorite drinks when on vacation.
Today is our 4 year wedding Anniversary. It’s been great to be back at a place we honeymooned at, we did a cruise and one of the stops was St Thomas so we came back because we liked it.
It’s been super fun as my memory is challenged, but being here has been amazing and we recreated memories and I had some memory wins too while here remembering things my husband didn’t 🤣. We met a neat local Carol who we did sand art with to take home and she gave us suggestions for St John and today we went and her suggestions were great.
It’s been an amazing week, we are ready to get back home to life, routine, our puppies, my son, my parents and our new house adventures with them:)
Happy Anniversary to my husband. You have proven In Sickness and In Health. Life definitely threw us a curveball 10 months in and I am so grateful for you.
Off to return our rental jeep in the morning and head home to our family 💚
