I did it!

I got my permit today! I studied and I passed the test. I got my permit at 41 years old 🤣.

I am so excited, but I am also so aware. Like I know I can’t see well at night with my glasses even so I won’t drive at night. I also know I won’t be able to drive at certain times due to how I feel. I also know I can’t drive in busy areas and I have to take it slow and do what’s safest and best for me and everyone on the road.

But it’s a step to relearning how to drive and to do it safely. Excited for this next step. It’s been 3 years, 6 months and 17 days since I last drove, since the day I got my TBI.

Here is to baby steps and accomplishments along the way and to do what’s safest and best for me and others.

I went on my first drive and my husband gave me a 8/10. I do better in town which surprised me, Kings Grade and North Valley back roads we took are a little narrow and fast and I was surprised in town felt better.

The last day I drove was in our Dodge Ram we had at the time. The first day I drove with my permit was in our new Dodge Ram. I definitely think I drive better and definitely paid better attention now!

So exciting!
Happiness. Freedom.
Kings Grade Road is pretty narrow but I did it!
My husband captured it

I am a TBI Survivor and woman who has been through a lot of good and bad. My goal by this blog is to share what I have learned and how life has happened for me and not to me. I have found purpose in it all and am here to share it. I am also sober and quitting drinking was the best choice for me. I will post about TBI, Brain Injury, life, travel, lessons learned and more. I am not a doctor or a nurse, I am a traumatic brain injury survivor who has lived 40 years of life and have an amazing mindset from it all. None of this is medical advice, that is what your doctor is for or 911 if you are having an true emergency and need help right away. I am here for community and to share all I have learned, you never know who it will help. Click on the white title of the blog post to read, just saying in case you might be confused like I am with all this 🤣
