I say that as I am writing this from Belize. The main picture is about 20 minutes before my life changed forever. Our life. But I still have life 💚

I came here in December 2018, just 7 months after the day my life changed forever. I visited Caye Caulker on a cruise and knew I wanted to come back.
Fast forward to May 16, 2022 and I am writing this from Ambergris Caye in Belize. We are here with a group of friends celebrating my friend Zachs retirement from the military after 23 years. It just happens that 5/16 happens to be when we are here and I cannot think of a better reason to be here and with some great friends.
Tomorrow we booked a flight over Blue Hole. They don’t fly on Mondays so it’s the day after 5/16.
For the day that is the day our world changed we will enjoy each others company and good friends and honoring living our life to the fullest.

I cannot thank my husband for all he does for me and all he has gone through because of my accident. I feel so lucky to have him and to have my family and a few really solid friends. Life is hard. Yes I look fine but every day there is a challenge but I am so thankful to be where I am and to have the abilities that I have. I am so proud of where we are 4 years later.
In February I became a licensed driver again. After almost 4 years. What a learning experience that was and I am so glad I turned in my license and knew I was not ok to drive. Come to find out the DMV was notified so I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it back including my physician providing a statement but I’m so glad I did what was best and took the proper steps for my safety and others. I definitely don’t drive like I ever did before and driving now is not easy and I can’t always drive, but I know my limits and when to drive and not too. I just need others to trust me that I know that and wouldn’t do anything I don’t think is safe 💚
